As part of the POST Master’s programme at the Art Academy of Latvia, we are introducing SPOT Exchange – a new initiative strengthening collaboration between Austria and Latvia’s academic and non-academic art institutions. SPOT Exchange is a residency program dedicated to supporting the professional development of emerging artists and curators from both countries. This initiative is a collaboration between Zuzeum Art Museum (Latvia) and DAS WEISSE HAUS (Austria), alongside the Art Academy of Latvia and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna .
By bridging higher education with professional practice, the program connects participants to new networks, artistic communities, and career opportunities. Over a six-month residency, participants will benefit from dedicated resources, a supportive creative environment, and engagement with diverse artistic communities.
Zuzeum Art Museum is pleased to welcome the visual artist Lino Kamelin (born 1991) from Vienna. She holds a BA in Political Science and is currently studying Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine arts in Vienna. She works in the fields of drawing, painting, and printmaking, where she explores the visual language of explanatory narratives in everyday life as well as in social sciences. From September onwards she will be resident at Zuzeum, continuing her artistic research and practise within the premises of Zuzeum’s Greenhouse and Zuzāns Art Collection. During the 6-month residency Lino Kamelin will work on creating an project about mythical narratives in art and their links to Latvian politics and society.

The residency will conclude with a curated exhibition at Zuzeum Greenhouse in January of 2026 — serving both as the final part of this Latvia–Austria exchange project and as an important professional platform for a young international artist. The exhibition will be complemented by public talk and workshops, advancing Zuzeum’s mission to foster innovative artistic practices, promote cultural dialogue, and increase accessibility to critical discourse.
