💤 What happens in the museum after the last visitor has left?
📅 From 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 6
🎟️ Tickets here. Purchased tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. Limited availability.
Does Thomas Houseago’s “walking” figure finally take a step? Do the Kuznetsov porcelain figures secretly dance on the shelves? And who turns off the lights in the exhibition halls when all the staff has long gone home?
For one night only, Zuzeum doors will not close. They will remain open for those ready to experience the museum at a time when it would normally be asleep. Or at least pretending to be.
From 20:00 on Saturday until 11:00 on Sunday, we will explore darkened exhibition halls by flashlight, listen to an acoustic concert by SHIPSEA in our favourite pyjamas and, wrapped in blankets, attempt to fall asleep among works of art.
The sleeping area will be located in the Great Hall, where the Zuzeum team will create a special display for the occasion. An exhibition dedicated to Arijs Skride will be on view in the Small Hall. For those who cannot fall asleep, an overnight Studio Ghibli animated film marathon organised together with Kino Kults will run throughout the night.
During the night, visitors will also be able to stop by a special self-care area created together with MADARA Cosmetics – a place to pause, take care of yourself and prepare for sleep. Or, perhaps, for the next nighttime adventure.
There will be no need to worry about going hungry. In the evening, we will provide late-night snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, while in the morning we will welcome you with breakfast and KALVE coffee. Non-alcoholic drinks throughout the night will be provided by PLŪKT tea, Sody and Rudy’s Kombucha.
The Zuzeum Café will also remain open throughout the event, in case you find yourself craving a special drink, a snack or some extra energy for the adventures ahead.
When morning arrives, we will not rush home. We will get moving together during a morning exercise session with DCH Studija, wake up our bodies and only then bring the adventure to a close.
