Zuzeum Art Museum invites you to a leisurely morning of conversations about contemporary art, held as part of the exhibition “Collective Memory is Everything I Don’t Remember: Moments We Share”.
📅 Wednesday, 25 November, 11.30 am – 1.00 pm
🎟️ Admission: exhibition entry fee
🗣️ The event will be held in Latvian
The exhibition presents work by seven Latvian women artists. They belong to the generation commonly referred to as millennials, whose formative years were shaped by the restoration of Latvia’s independence and the period of change that followed. Their practices explore the relationship between collective memory, identity, and individual perceptions of the past. Drawing on their own and their families’ experiences, the artists engage with twentieth-century realities, share personal stories, address socioeconomic issues, and examine public space.
We’ll begin the morning with a guided tour led by an art mediator. Visual artist Krista Vindberga will tell more about their video work. To round off the morning, join us for tea and conversation in the Living Room, where we’ll share our impressions and reflections on the exhibition in a peaceful and informal atmosphere.
Krista Vindberga (b. 1989) combines static and moving images in her artistic practice. She works across multiple media, including painting, drawing, photography and video, selecting each medium with precision to activate its specific qualities and potential. Central themes in her work are memory and time, which is why she frequently engages with photographic archives. Vindberga is also a set and costume designer, a role that complements the multidisciplinary nature and layered narratives of her artistic practice.
Seniors are especially welcome, but everyone interested in art and photography is warmly invited to join us, regardless of age. We look forward to seeing you!
