👨🏻‍🎨 We invite you to join painting masterclasses with artist Adam Till.

🌷 Topic of the first lesson: Flemish tulip

Tulips are recognized worldwide as harbingers of spring. Their widespread popularity has made them perennial muses for artists, a universally recognized symbol of the season, and a cornerstone of vibrant, nature-inspired landscapes.

No period in art history is more closely associated with tulips than the Dutch Golden Age. Amid economic prosperity, scientific discovery, and a flourishing of arts and culture, the tulip became a symbol of Dutch success. The first tulips were imported to the Netherlands from the Ottoman Empire in the second half of the 16th century. Soon, demand for specific colors and varieties outpaced supply, sparking tulip mania: at its peak, the price of a rare bulb could rival a craftsman’s annual salary.

The tulip market ultimately deflated in the 1630s, but the love of tulips endured. The blossoms continued to feature prominently in Dutch art for the next century, and the flower—along with its cultivation—remains a cornerstone of Dutch culture today.

In this class, we will paint tulips inspired by Flemish artists.

We will begin the painting with a simple sketch and traditional black-and-white glazing. Then we will paint the picture with transparent oil paints and add realistic details and highlights to the image.

🎨 At least two classes are required to complete the work (each class lasts 2 hours).
Masterclasses will be held regularly, once a week on Saturdays, from 12:00 to 14:00.
