Rihards Zaļupe is an award-winning Latvian composer, producer, and percussionist. He is the composer of the film Straume and has also created music for several internationally recognized films, including Dumpis, Suflieris, Tizlenes, Nebaidies ne no kā, The Pagan King (Nameja gredzens), 1906, among others.
In 2023, Rihards performed at Zuzeum with a musically visual performance Through the Apocalypse to Home, which was shown in two fully sold-out concerts and brought together the largest audience ever hosted in the exhibition hall. Since then, he has continued his impressive creative journey, gained international recognition, and even stood on Hollywood’s biggest stage – the Academy Awards ceremony.
In this talk, “The Road to the Peaks. Straume”, Rihards will share his personal story – a journey of courage, ambition, challenges, and growth. This is a unique opportunity to get to know the artist more closely, learn about his creative process and music, and find inspiration for your own path.
