During the tour, the exhibition’s creators will introduce the concept of the exhibition, the selection of works, and the process of developing the exhibition in Riga. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the works by international artists, as well as how pieces from the Zuzāns Collection are included in the exhibition.
MAMA ‘Mother Nature’ is an international art initiative that brings together artists from various countries and focuses on the relationship between humans and nature, ecological change, cultural memory, and the fragile balance between human activity and the planet’s living systems.
The exhibition in Riga has been organised in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Latvia, continuing the cultural dialogue between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
Regarding the process of creating the exhibition in Riga, curator Emin Mammadov says:
“Within the architectural and cultural context of Zuzeum, these works create an environment where the viewers are encouraged to slow down and engage with the material presence of art. Colour, form, texture, and gesture become instruments for reflecting on humanity’s place within a fragile planetary system.”
Organized by IDEA Public Association & Heydar Aliyev Center. Idea by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Founder of the IDEA Public Association. Curated by Emin Mammadov.
