On the first weekend after the exhibition opening, visitors are welcome to join a guided tour led by Roberts Rūrāns himself. During the tour, he will share insights into his creative practice, the behind-the-scenes process of developing the exhibition, his experience working with both international and local brands, and will answer questions from the audience.
Roberts Rūrāns’ first institutional solo exhibition reveals the breadth of his artistic practice – from vivid, internationally recognized illustrations to deeply personal and spiritual paintings in which contemporary visual language intertwines with motifs drawn from the Christian tradition.
About the artist
Roberts Rūrāns is an illustrator and artist, a graduate of the Art Academy of Latvia, who shaped his professional path through hands-on experience – by collaborating with cultural institutions, media outlets and brands in Latvia and abroad. His work can be seen in projects for The New York Times, The Olympics, Hermes, airBaltic, NATO, and others, where an illustration becomes a clear and easily readable visual language between art and design. Critical discourse on contemporary art often speaks about the relationship between form and content, and the balance between the commercial and the conceptual – the core themes that also indirectly resonate in Roberts’ professional practice.
