🎄 Zuzeum festive weekend: Christmas Gift Market
This year, Zuzeum celebrates Christmas in a nostalgic spirit filled with warmth and tradition.
In collaboration with local artists, artisans, and creative minds, we invite you to join us at the Zuzeum Christmas Gift Market!
The market will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 13 and 14, during Zuzeum opening hours. When planning your holiday route around the city, make sure to include Zuzeum — a place of festive atmosphere, thoughtful gifts, and cozy moments. Throughout the day, the Zuzeum Living Room will transform into a vibrant marketplace offering original artworks, jewelry, design objects, and festive treats.
This year’s participants:
Anna Pantejeva, Kristians Brekte, Silja Pogule, Karola Rubene, Far Far Store, Another Hat, A la collecte, Poly Vintage, Iezis Clay House, Kali Studio, Vilma Candles, Noonchi Organics, DAILE and Egļu piegāde.
The Zuzeum Café will serve mulled wine, gingerbread, and other seasonal delicacies, while Bite Me will be preparing hot sandwiches.
On Saturday and Sunday, all day, take part in a DIY Creative Station, where children and adults alike can create their own Christmas tree decorations.
At the Zuzeum Shop, you’ll find art books, design items, and unique gifts — as well as the opportunity to send a festive postcard directly from the museum. Meanwhile, in the Ear, a knitting workshop will take place on Saturday — find more information here. But on Sunday in the Ear, we will host a festive kids workshop, more information here.
This year’s holiday atmosphere at Zuzeum is created by artist Oto Holgers Ozoliņš. Inspired by the timeless joy of building snowmen, the snowman has become the central symbol of this year’s celebrations. On the ground floor, visitors can explore Oto’s snowman photography series, which he took behind the Polar Circle, alongside a display of unique snowman images contributed by our visitors over the years.
Zuzeum also invites everyone to take part in the Snowman activity at Sculpture Garden – we’ll provide everything (except snow) you need to build your own snowman, take a photo, and hang your picture on the Zuzeum Christmas tree!
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the museum’s ongoing exhibitions “The Whole World a Bauhaus” and “Spaceship Earth” (on view until December 28).
