🎥 The international documentary film festival “Artdocfest/Riga” in cooperation with the art centre “Zuzeum” invites its guests to the thematic documentary film program “Artdoc & ProArt”.
This selection of films has been made for the second year already. It will be shown only once – on Friday, March 1 from 2 p.m. Entrance is free, if you register your attendance at the “Zuzeum” website from February 16.
The curators of the festival consider the films selected for the “Artdoc & ProArt” program as contemporary works of art, which include stories about the most diverse manifestations of the creative process. If you are not in the closest circle, only the eye of a film camera can access them.
“Audiocopter and the Midnight Sun” (Norway) presents Swedish film composers Sebastian Rubinstein Öberg and Magnus Jarlbo; “Maestro Roman Toi. Beautiful Songs I Dedicate to You” (Canada) tells about the musician’s personality and the role of choral music in the Singing Revolution, and the behind-the-scenes of this production will be revealed in a face-to-face conversation with the audience by the director Kalli Paakspuu; the experimental work “Contrapunctus V” (Germany) embodies a unique time capsule that focuses on biological and artificial states of mind, “Heartist” (Faroe Islands) explores the fascinating life and work of artist Sigrun Gunnarsdottir, one of the most important painters in the Faroe Islands today, while “Facing Time” (Germany) provides an insight into the creative life of legendary photographer Michael Ritz. He documented life in FRG and the GDR and is the author of the iconic photo testimonies from Auschwitz and the 1968 gusts of political movements
