'Spring–22'
When preparations began, the Spring-22 exhibition had a different name. Our original intention was to present the exhibition as a summary of the two-plus years we’ve spent in the pandemic: what we’ve understood, learned, and how we’ve survived it. On the 24th of February 2022, Russian military forces launched a violent attack on Ukraine. On that day, we were painting walls, and transporting and re-framing artworks. But it became clear to us that if this exhibition were to take place, it would have to be a different exhibition. Some works went back into storage and different ones took their place on our walls.
The artworks presented in this exhibition explore human interaction with public and private spaces, real and imaginary worlds, and personal microcosms, from our childhood dreams to our weaknesses. They document the second half of the 20th century and the first part of the 21st century, encapsulating people and their moods. Visitors are welcome to sit down and talk about their feelings caused by current events. If necessary, we will add to our exhibition more artworks and furniture. The fashion items in the exhibition are from Volga Vintage.
Zuzeum is open every day from 12.00 to 19.00. Feel free to take a look at our yoga and architecture hall and the project room in the sculpture garden while you’re with us.
The exhibition poster features an illustration by American artist Lauren Martin. It is used with the artist’s permission.
