The Zuzāns Collection is the world’s largest private collection of Latvian art. The creators of the exhibition “Collections,” Edd Schouten and Andris Kaļiņins, selected around 200 works from a collection of more than 30,000 artworks and arranged them into smaller, interconnected collections.
Roberts Rūrāns’ first institutional solo exhibition features works from both the Zuzāns Collection and the artist’s personal collection. It was Jānis Zuzāns’ commission to Roberts that became the starting point for the idea of this exhibition – a series in which Roberts offers his interpretation of the Ten Commandments.
During the tour, Jānis Zuzāns will share stories about the works on view, the behind-the-scenes process of building the collection, and other topics of interest to visitors.
