The exhibition Celebrate Porcelain with Kuznetsov at Zuzeum Art Centre offered visitors the chance to appreciate the exquisite splendor and diversity of porcelain products while learning about the history of Latvia’s first significant porcelain factory. In addition, the public program Between Past and Future. Porcelain explores the materiality of porcelain and its development over time.
During the dismantling of the exhibition, we will not only give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse but also invite a panel of experts to reflect upon the past months and share their opinions, insight, and experiences regarding the exhibition design.
Contemporary exhibition design trends have highlighted the importance of thoughtful and well-crafted displays in shaping the visitor experience. Making an exhibition that is both informative and engaging requires a collaborative effort from a team of professionals. To explore how to balance visual, aesthetic, functional, and emotional qualities in the art exhibition design process, we will speak with the architects Toms Kampars, Liene Jākobsone, Manten Devriendt, and artist and designer Arthur Analts. These professionals have all worked in the field of exhibition design.

Toms Kampars is the architect of the exhibition Celebrate Porcelain with Kuznetsov (2023) at Zuzeum Art Centre while Liene Jākobsone and Manten Devriendt from studio Sampling worked on Sneakers: Eco x Ego (2023) at Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum. Meanwhile, Arthur Analts is the author of the artistic concept of Our Values (2022), an exhibition at the Latvian National Museum of Art, devoted to the centenary of Latvijas Banka.
The discussion will be moderated by Anna Pūtele, exhibition curator at the Latvian National Museum of Art. She has experience working with different educational projects at museum, she curated exhibitions Let’s Be Friends? (2018), Let’s Play? (2020), both of which were designed especially for children and families. She was the curator of the education program for the exhibition Our Values, as well as co-curating Arthur Analts’ spatial object Our Sun (2022).
