Curious how biodegradable materials can be created with simple, hands-on methods? Join an open one evening exhibition of projects developed by LMA graphic design students during the summer school, featuring experimental biomaterials, video journeys, and sustainable design processes exploring new ways of creating beyond the screen.

Rūta Jumīte is a multidisciplinary designer who focuses on ecocentric design practice, research, strategic, graphic, and social engagement design. She is a co-founder of the Collective Fabula, and her creative work focuses on design methodologies aimed at shaping regenerative futures. Rūta teaches design research at the Latvian Academy of Arts and leads an international Design Summer School. She holds a Master’s degree in Creative Sustainability from Aalto University in Finland, and has received the Latvian Design Award in 2023 and 2024. Rūta is involved in projects related to design and ecological strategy in Latvia, Finland, Denmark, and Argentina.

Eleonora Šljanda is a designer and art director based in Tallinn, with over eight years of practice spanning studio, freelance, and academic work. She holds degrees from the Estonian Academy of Arts and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Currently, she leads creative work at 3000 Studio in Riga. Her practice covers brand identity, campaign systems, motion and character development, and the building of visual systems that are both bold and emotionally alive. Alongside her studio work, Eleonora teaches experimental typography and bookbinding at the Art Academy of Latvia. Outside the studio, she is a long-standing resident at Ida Radio.
